Customs relief for drugs and food to treat rare diseases

The government has exempted basic customs duty on all drugs as well as food items prescribed for special medical purposes, that are imported for treatment of rare diseases. It has exempted Pembrolizumab (Keytruda), used in treatment of various cancers, from basic customs duty.
