As many as 3.65 lakh pilgrims visited the Amarnath shrine this year — the highest footfall recorded in half a decade — said J&K lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha on Friday, adding: “The annual pilgrimage has concluded with the Samapan Pooja of Chadi Mubarak.” While the pilgrimage remained suspended for three days because of a cloudburst, relentless efforts by security forces, NDRF and SDRF ensured an early resumption of the pilgrimage, Sinha said while addressing a press conference in Jammu.
