‘Countering climate change in developing world could cost 5-10 times more than current fund flows’

In an apparent endorsement of India’s position on climate finance as flagged by PM Modi earlier this week, the UN body on environment on Thursday noted that the overall estimated adaptation costs to face the challenges of climate change in developing countries would be “five to 10 times higher than the current public finance flows” for this purpose.
