Irked by the UP government’s laxity in allowing policemen involved in an alleged fake encounter case of 2002 to roam scot-free despite court orders for their arrest, the Supreme Court has asked the state to pay interim compensation for Rs 7 lakh within seven days to the victim’s father, who has been searching for justice for the last 19 years.
