As 80% of Mumbai's population has possibly been exposed to Covid-causing SARS-CoV-2 virus, the third wave's peak is unlikely to be as large as the second wave's peak where 90 fatalities were registered on May 1. However, this positive projection by scientists of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) comes with a caveat: this is provided reinfections are not substantial.
