5th generation US fighters make debut at Aero India

The F-35A Joint Strike Fighter came from Hill Air Force Base, Utah, and F-35A Lightning II from Eielson Air Force Base in Alaska.

LTTE leader Velupillai Prabhakaran is alive and will be back soon, 89-year-old Tamil nationalist leader Pazha Nedumaran claimed on Monday. On proof for his claim, Nedumaran said he was in touch with Prabhakaran's family members. On May 24, 2009, the LTTE had confirmed that Prabhakaran was dead.

Much still to be done: Supreme Court to government on judges' appointment

The swift decisions taken by the Centre in the past 10 days in clearing some of the collegium recommendations for appointment as judges in high courts and seven judges in the Supreme Court did not satisfy the apex court, which said on Monday that "much is still required to be done" and expressed concern over "selective" clearance of names of judges.

Mumbai second-most polluted in weekly world ranking, Delhi not among worst 10

With temperature rising over the past two days, Mumbaikars may be breathing better, but as per Swiss air tracking index IQAir (a real-time international air quality monitor), within a week between January 29 and February 8, Mumbai was the second most polluted city in the world. On January 29, Mumbai was ranked 10th in IQAir rankings for the poorest spots.

PM Modi greets people on World Radio Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday greeted radio listeners and others associated with the broadcasting medium on World Radio Day. UNESCO proclaimed in 2011 to observe World Radio Day annually to celebrate the popular medium. The theme for this year is "Radio and Peace".
