300 tourists stuck after landslide in Pithoragarh

More than 300 people, mainly tourists and pilgrims on the Adi Kailash yatra, were stranded in Dharchula and Gunji areas of Pithoragarh district near the India-China border on Thursday, 48 hours after a massive landslide on Tuesday evening blocked access to the critical Lipulekh-Tawaghat border road near Lakhanpur in Uttarakhand.

Hyderabad businessman turns approver in ED’s excise policy case

Sarath Reddy, one of the key accused in the Delhi liquor scam, has turned approver in what can boost the ED’s case against AAP leader and former Delhi deputy CM Manish Sisodia and others accused of rigging the excise policy of 2021-22 in favour of a cartel controlled by Hyderabad-based South Group. Reddy had moved a special court seeking to turn approver and said he was “ready to make true disclosure voluntarily” about organising and handling alleged kickbacks in the scam.
