Unprecedented for a CM to accuse EGI journos of provocation, SC told
The Supreme Court on Wednesday prevented Manipur police from arresting three Editors Guild journalists. Appearing on behalf of EGI journalists Seema Guha, Sanjay Kapoor, and Bharat Bhushan, senior advocate Shyam Divan told a bench of CJI D Y Chandrachud, Justices J B Pardiwala, and Manoj Misra that the FIRs violated free speech and cited orders courts had previously issued to protect people from arrest, including a woman advocate.

Give report on arms recovery in sealed cover, SC tells Manipur government
The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought a sealed cover status report from the Manipur government on recovery of arms and ammunition looted from police and other sources, while declaring that it would put in place a mechanism to bring to book every wrongdoer during the ethnic clashes without blaming either Kuki or Meitei communities.
