She was later arrested along with her supporters while she was en route to Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao's camp office to protest against her vehicle being attacked by TRS workers in Warangal a day earlier.
Supreme Court on Tuesday refused to entertain a PIL seeking doubling the sanctioned strength of judges in all courts to deal with the huge pendency of cases, saying filling up of existing vacancies is a major challenge in itself. "Where do we get good judges? Have you asked good lawyers why they refuse to become judges," CJI Chandrachud said.

The Supreme Court on Monday said the Centre is frustrating the appointment process of judges in higher judiciary by not clearing names recommended by its collegium in violation of law and asked it to resolve the issue and not force it to “take decision on the judicial side”.

BJP national general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh and three others were on Thursday named accused by the Telangana Police in the Poachgate case, taking the number of accused to seven. Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday busted a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) module by arresting two terrorists and their two associates, including a woman, in Hajin area of Bandipora district. A police spokesperson said a huge cache of arms and ammunition and materials for preparing IEDs were recovered from the terrorists, identified as Musaib Mir alias Moya of Rakh Hajin and Arafat Farooq Wagey alias Dr Adil of Gulshnabad Hajin.
General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (Northern Command) Lieutenant General Upendera Dwivedi estimated the number at 300 and offered a break-up. “There are 82 foreign and 53 local terrorists active in J&K. What is worrisome is there are almost 170 unidentified terrorists,” Dwivedi said at a presser in Poonch. Sources said the total number of terrorists was at least double the current level of 300 before 2019.
The government on Monday unveiled the new standard on “Online Consumer Reviews” and ratings made by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) in its bid to curb the menace of fake and deceptive reviews of products and services. This will be applicable even for independent third-party entities that post such reviews on any online platform.

The name is a spelling variation of ‘Valmiki’ which is already in the SC list, but given the strictness adopted in the recognition of Dalit groups, the difference leads to omission of many individuals or households from the ‘Balmiki’ caste from reservation and other affirmative action benefits.
